Comprehensive Exam
Your initial exam includes a detailed health and dental history, a visual and tactile examination, oral cancer screening, charting, periodontal probing and dental films as needed.
Films may include those taken inside your mouth as well as those taken from outside your mouth such as Panoramics. We use digital technology to capture images of your teeth and other oral structures.

Treatment planning

All the information from the comprehensive exam is consolidated and analyzed and our findings presented to you for discussion and review. We will then construct an individualized treatment plan tailored to meet your unique set of needs.

Cleaning

Instruments are used to give a thorough clean and polish of teeth and other oral structures. We also provide periodontal services (deep cleaning and hygiene instruction to treat gum disease).

Preventative care

Measures to prevent future problems are a priority in dentistry today. This includes fluoride treatments, sealants, as well as prescribing treatments for patients at higher risk levels. Ask us about products to help with dry mouth as this can be an important step in preventative dentistry.

Restorations

Where disease or trauma have taken away tooth structure we provide an extensive selection of restorative techniques and procedures. These include:
-
Fillings – traditional and tooth colored
-
Bonding
-
Veneers and Laminates

Crown and Bridge

When the damage to teeth is more significant we offer crowns to restore both strength and aesthetics. We also provide bridges as one of several ways to replace missing teeth.
Extractions

Where damage to teeth are too extensive for repair and restoration the teeth are removed to prevent ongoing problems such as infection and pain. RB Dental provides various treatment options for the replacement of these missing teeth so that stability and aesthetics are restored to the dental arches. These treatment options include implants, bridges and removable partial and complete dentures.
Endodontic care

At the center of each tooth is a space that is filled with blood vessels, nerves and cells, some of which are unique to tooth structure. These tissues are susceptible to decay and trauma; this can lead to inflammation, infection and death of the tissues. When this happens the nerve space has to be accessed, cleaned and disinfected and then filled to save the teeth from extraction. This process is often referred to as a root canal.
Oral Cancer screening
As part of our holistic approach to dentistry we offer routine screening for Oral Cancer. The screening process involves a visual and tactile examination of the head and neck region and of the tissues inside the mouth. The purpose of the screening is to identify potential problems as early as possible.

Risk factors for oral cancer include smoking, the use of smokeless tobacco products, drinking alcohol, infection with the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), and genetics.
